August.
When I was younger, I was so excited for August to come because it meant summer is about to come into an end, fall will arrive and school will start. I’ve always loved school– I’ve always loved buying school supplies (don’t get me started on my love for stationary), learning something new everyday, seeing my friends at a daily basis and basically having a routine. As I grew up, I still embraced those qualities and it’s actually very scary that this will be my last August as an undergrad. For my chosen degree and profession, having a Master is not something you really have to do afterwards because it’s about who YOU know and who YOU have CONNECTIONS with. So the fact that this is my last Aug. in school until I do my master is quite terrifying, but definitely exciting.
Other than school, Aug. is definitely a pretty sad month for me. My mum passed away on the 14th of Aug. Grieving is a part of life and life does go on, but the memories will always be there no matter what. The memory of her being so happy cause she saw me on TV because of the Teen Choice Awards, the memory of our last convo, the memory of just seeing her for the last time until she was gone unexpectedly is still there.
This year, we’re celebrating her death anniversary in New York. My friends and I always dreamt of going jut by ourselves, but my dad found out that he’s having a reunion around that time and everything just kinda fell into place. We bought our ticket the day after Christmas, and flash forward 7 months later, and now we’re only week away. My brothers chose to be left behind and promised to come along our next trip (Chicago/Wisconsin?????). But a week in the Big Apple with my favorite people is going to be exciting. And.. HALSEY. I can’t believe we’re actually seeing her in MSG.
School also starts the week after, and so will by internship. I can’t believe I secured the internship I’ve been wanting for a while, Praise the Lord.
Life’s going to be hectic for the next few months, but I’m ready to take it on.
